Recently retired from a career in graphic design, I am enjoying painting full-time since 2020. I have a continuous studio practice exploring contemporary landscape painting, using acrylic paint, mixed media, oil/cold wax, and watercolour. I like to build and disrupt surfaces using brushes, knives, and scrapers, embracing both accident and revision. Scraping back reveals layers of history, while reworking develops depth and luminosity. This interplay between control and emergence reflects the rhythms of the natural world.

My educational background includes a blend of fine art training and design expertise which informs and shapes my compositions. I hold an 4 year Honours BFA in Visual Art and Art History from York University, complemented by a Graphic Design Diploma  from Humber College, graduating from both programs with distinction. This strong foundation balances formal structure with intuitive exploration, guiding thoughtful decisions and expressive freedom in every painting.

My work explores contemporary abstract landscape, grounded in a strong foundation of observation, composition, and colour. My practice has evolved toward a more expressive and interpretive approach. I am interested in how landscape is experienced and remembered—through atmosphere, light, and emotional resonance rather than specific place. I create imagined terrains that suggest stillness, movement, and the passage of time. I want my paintings to invite quiet reflection and open-ended interpretation, balancing structure with spontaneity. Nature is the foundation of my practice, rooted in an intuitive response to the landscape. My work is shaped by how place is held in memory—through mood, light, and emotional resonance rather than direct representation. I am drawn to what lies beneath the visible, tracing what endures, shifts, and re-emerges over time. The paintings evoke imagined terrains that suggest stillness, movement, and reflection.

My paintings appear in numerous juried exhibitions, public displays, and private collections across Canada and the USA. Select highlights include:
