Marco, the feline critic.

I have over 30 years of dedicated experience in the art world, holding a BFA (Hons.) in Visual Art and Art History from York University, as well as a diploma in Graphic Design from Humber College. Now, having transitioned to painting full-time after retiring from a successful career in commercial art, I focus my efforts on creating expressive and evocative interpretations of imagined landscapes.

Working intuitively, I seek to convey my deep and abiding connection to nature through abstract compositions, employing elements such as colour, line, tone, texture, and shape to guide my artistic process. I strive to build rich and layered surfaces using various techniques, including scratching, impasto, and paint removal or addition, which are further enhanced by expressive marks and dynamic gestures.

Through my paintings, I aim to share the powerful energy and profound beauty that I personally feel in the landscape, engaging the imaginations of viewers and encouraging them to connect deeply with their own emotional responses to the wonders of nature.
